Invasive Species Control (Mechanical and Herbicide Application) in the Niagara Gorge at Whirlpool State Park, Niagara Falls
In winter 2019 through spring 2020, the certified commercial pesticide applicator will perform mechanical and herbicide treatment of woody and herbaceous invasive species in the Niagara Gorge in Whirlpool State Park. The Contractor will apply follow-up foliar herbicide to herbaceous plants and regrowth and new seedlings of target woody species. This work is expected to extend over two years, with woody species removal occurring in the late fall and winter months and follow-up foliar application occurring in spring and summer. The Contractor needs to develop a safety plan that is in compliance with ANSI Z133 Standards for Tree Worker Safety and OSHA Standard for Fall Protection. Subcontracting may be used to fulfill contract requirements and increase MWBE participation. Information on the requested services and proposal submission are included in the attached RFP.
