Environmental Monitoring and Vegetation Surveys of Niagara Gorge at Whirlpool State Park, Niagara Falls

The Western New York Land Conservancy is requesting quotes from qualified contractors to conduct environmental monitoring and vegetation surveys across our restoration sites along the rim and within the Niagara Gorge in Whirlpool State Park, Niagara Falls, NY. The contractor will work with Land Conservancy staff to develop methods appropriate for monitoring the environmental impacts of the restoration work and describing the vegetation ecology within the gorge. Monitoring and surveys will be conducted in summer 2019 and 2020 at the four main restoration sites; within the gorge (15.9 ha), along the gorge rim (1.5 ha), in an oak savanna (1.6 ha), and at a landscaped meadow (1.7 ha).

Proposals must be received by 5:00 pm (ET) on May 8, 2018.

Budget for this work: $35,000-$50,000

Invasive Species Control (Mechanical and Herbicide Application) in the Niagara Gorge at Whirlpool State Park, Niagara Falls

The Western New York Land Conservancy is requesting quotes from qualified contractors to mechanically and chemically treat woody and herbaceous invasive species on 39.3 acres undergoing ecological restoration in Whirlpool and Devil’s Hole State Parks in Niagara Falls, New York. The site extends 1.6 miles downstream of the Whirlpool Rapids Bridge, along the Niagara River Gorge talus slopes. Proposals must be received by 5:00 pm (ET) on May 10, 2018.

Budget for this work: $350,000-$400,000

Invasive Species Control (Mechanical and Herbicide Application) along the Niagara Gorge rim at Whirlpool State Park, Niagara Falls

The Western New York Land Conservancy is requesting quotes from qualified contractors to remove and treat woody and herbaceous invasive species on 8.1 acres undergoing ecological restoration in Whirlpool State Park in Niagara Falls, New York. The site is divided into two areas, one along the Niagara River Gorge rim and the other adjacent to the Robert Moses/Niagara Scenic Parkway. Proposals must be received by 5:00 pm (ET) on May 10, 2018.

Budget for this work: $75,000 – $125,000
